Terms of service

1. Accepting these terms

By accessing or using Threaded, you agree to these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter this agreement. If local law requires a parent or guardian's consent, you must have it.

2. Your account

Provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account and for the join codes you share. Tell us promptly at founders@threaded.love if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of photos, writing, and other content you submit. You give Threaded a limited, worldwide licence to host, copy, process, transform, and share that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service and to create the chapters you request.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload and share your content, including appropriate permission from people shown or described. Do not upload unlawful content, non-consensual intimate material, content that exploits minors, or content that infringes another person's rights.

4. Generated content and AI

Threaded uses automated and AI systems to produce stories, themes, and artwork. Generated content may be inaccurate, similar to content produced for others, or unsuitable for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing it before sharing. Threaded does not guarantee that generated content is unique or eligible for intellectual-property protection.

5. Sharing and online play

A person with a valid join code can receive the chapter data needed to play. Only share codes with people you trust. You are responsible for the decision to share a chapter and for ensuring that its photos, writing, and letter are appropriate for the invited player.

6. Acceptable use

You may not misuse Threaded, attempt unauthorized access, bypass usage limits, probe the service for vulnerabilities, interfere with another user's experience, automate abusive requests, reverse engineer protected portions of the service, or use Threaded to violate law or another person's rights.

7. Service changes and availability

Threaded is an evolving service. Features may change, fail, or be discontinued. Generation and online play depend on third-party services and network conditions. Keep your own copies of important photos and writing because Threaded is not a permanent backup service.

8. Suspension and account deletion

You may stop using Threaded at any time and delete your account from the account page. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or third parties, or when these terms are materially violated.

9. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Threaded is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not make warranties about uninterrupted availability, generated content, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or preservation of content. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Threaded and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the service. Our total liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Threaded during the 12 months before the claim or CAD $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

11. Governing rules and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws that apply where Threaded is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Before starting a formal claim, contact us and give us 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally. You keep any consumer rights and dispute options that local law does not allow you to waive.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post the updated terms and effective date here, with additional notice for material changes where required. Questions can be sent to founders@threaded.love.
